LABOR'S COMMITMENT
Updated
On: Sep 20, 2006 (19:39:00)
Every day, Government Employees come to work to honor solemn commitments they've made to support and defend the Constitution. Prison workers, VA employees, Homeland Security, Social Security Administration and a varity of agency personnel keep the wheels of Democracy running. Their's is a patriotic calling! The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) exists to enable these workers to better serve and protect the American people - all of them!
A Union of people, AFGE strives to create a culture of collaboration between labor and management by serving as collective voice for the thousands of frontline workers that are dedicated to a life of service. In addition to protecting employees, we also create a climate of greater quality and efficiency; beyond exposing fraud, waste and abuse, we also promote excellence in all facets of Government.
Success, for us, is attracting and retaining the best and the brightest to a life of public service. We recognize that a Government workforce that is diverse, stable, educated, and resourceful can better serve the U.S. and all Americans. By having committed and dedicated personnel-tried and tested-in these important tasks, all citizens benefit.
